Ubuntu Contributionism

Updated: Sep 20, 2023

As active members of our Ubuntu Community, we are currently assisting several community projects including the building of community gardens/food forests in The Newcastle & Hunter region.

We are excited to be creating this initiative because we believe that good organic natural food is essential to our health and well-being.

This initiative has come about through our work with central coast environmental group Our Land Our Water Our Future, OLOWOF Inc. Our OLOWOF charity registered volunteers have been working hard to help us build these innovative community gardens/food forest.

This video above highlights a 25 metre shade house garden on one of the 4 properties we are currently working on in our region. On all of our projects, we are using recycled materials to create the garden beds, including 3 large metre long bags transformed into garden beds for potatoes and beans.

We now have an amazing new volunteer Jasmin who understands Permaculture Farming so Jasmin is teaching us what to plant where, it’s really wonderful to learn about building gardens and companion planting, it’s also very rewarding to come together with other members of our OLOWOF Volunteer Community to grow food for ourselves, our kids, grandkids and our community.

If you would like to support OLOWOF in this great initiative please consider either subscribing or joining the OLOWOF Ubuntu Community, or if you would like to become a charity registered volunteer or have land available to contribute to grow food, or anything else you may feel can assist, please send OLOWOF an email on info@ourlandourwaterourfuture.org.
